BIO:
Prior to joining Spaceland/Live Nation, Chris Diaz spent the last 13 years developing bands and comics between America’s two biggest markets, New York and LA. He has built a career on spotting emerging talent, booking some of the earliest live shows for Silversun Pickups, Charli XCX, Tycho, Circa Survive, Cold War Kids, Hannibal Buress, & Joey Bada$$. Upon graduating from Loyola Marymount University's recording arts program, he got his start at Knitting Factory Hollywood (R.I.P.) as a sound engineer turned booker, doing double duty as a touring front-of-house engineer for various punk acts including Dead Kennedys. After a stint out east programming Knitting Factory Brooklyn, Diaz returned home in 2013 when Goldenvoice came knocking with an opportunity to book the iconic Roxy Theatre on the Sunset Strip and relive his high-school punk memories at Pomona’s Glass House. LA Weekly credited Diaz’s success breathing new life into The Roxy with a nod for "Best Revitalized Music Venue" in 2014. His adventurous calendar during his Roxy tenure spanned from hip hop to electronic, indie newcomers, and major underplays with the likes of Patti Smith, Blink-182, Foo Fighters, U2, & James Blake. Diaz credits his success to the crucial early relationships he built with the local music community as a DJ for KXLU, his college radio station.
